About the school
The Kenya High School is a national girls' boarding secondary school located along Mandera Road in Kileleshwa, an upmarket suburb of Westlands in Nairobi. Established in 1910 as the Nairobi European School, it was renamed the European Girls Secondary School in 1932 and became The Kenya High School in 1939. The school was acquired by the Kenyan government in 1974 and began admitting African students.
In the 2024 KCSE, 382 candidates sat the exam, with 70 scoring A grade, 114 scoring A-, and 93 scoring B+. The school recorded a mean score of 10.131. The Kenya High maintains a top-ten national ranking in most KCSE examinations.
The school motto, "Service est Regnare," translates as "To serve is to reign." The current Chief Principal is Virginia Wahome.
