About the school
Mang'u High School is a national boys' boarding secondary school located along Thika Super Highway in Juja, Kiambu County, approximately 6 kilometres from Thika town. Founded in 1925 at Kabaa by Dutch missionary Father Michael Witte, the school relocated to its current site in the 1970s.
In the 2024 KCSE, the school recorded a mean score of 10.011, with 107 students scoring A grade and 164 scoring A-. Mang'u consistently ranks among Kenya's top national schools. The school motto "Jishinde Ushinde" translates from Swahili as "Conquer yourself to conquer."
Notable alumni include the third President of Kenya, the late Hon. Mwai Kibaki, the late Vice President Hon. Moody Awori, and the late freedom fighter and politician Tom Mboya. The school operates under the Competency-Based Education framework.
