About the school
Pangani Girls' High School is a national girls' boarding secondary school located along Juja Road in Starehe Constituency, Nairobi, about 3 kilometres from the city centre. Established in 1932 as the Duchess of Gloucester School to serve the Asian community of pre-independence Nairobi, the institution was renamed Pangani Girls' High School after Kenya's independence in 1963.
Originally a day school for Asian girls offering the Cambridge and Higher Cambridge School Certificate, Pangani was converted into a boarding school in 1986 and was elevated from provincial to national status in 2011.
In the 2024 KCSE, the school recorded a mean score of 9.841 with 98.54% of candidates qualifying for direct university admission. The school motto is "Founded on Truth and Excellence." The current Senior Principal is Florence Ngangari.
