About the school
Ramba Boys High School is a public boys' boarding secondary school in Rarieda sub-county, Siaya County. The school was established in 1967 as a Harambee (community) school through the initiative of Mr. Okoth Nyalwal, then headteacher of Ramba Primary School. The government took it over in 1970, posting Mr. Arthur Ouma as the first headteacher under government administration.
The school has grown steadily over the decades. In the 2012 KCSE it was ranked first in Rarieda District, third in Siaya County, and 22nd nationally among county schools. It remains one of the consistently top-performing schools in Siaya County, with over 75% of candidates achieving direct university entry in recent years.
The school sits on a peaceful rural campus and operates in close partnership with the surrounding community, in keeping with its Harambee origins.
